Amethyst: Stress Dough
With Amethyst being the “Crystal of the Week”, I knew I had to do a post on Stress Dough. Lavender and Amethyst work together to provide a calm energy that is excellent for soothing tension and anxiety. This is what makes this royal gem a major component of this product.
Like I’ve said before, I feel as though minerals speak to me, literally I can hear what they are saying and how they want to assist an individual in their healing process. This is why I feel I a
m obligated to work with crystals and their metaphysical properties, I have been given a gift that is unique and intentional for shifting people and help them heal! Obligation is not the reason why I do this work. I love gems. They are profound. The fact that a single crystal can provide such healing to an individual is really a beautiful thing.
Amethyst was one of the first crystals to speak to me. I remember in 2010 when I first started working at Om Gifts, the large display in the front of the store was featuring amethyst. There were orbs, wands, rough stones, tumbled stones and many more variations, laid out, in the middle of the store. Although I was not in touch with energy and empathy at the time, I noticed right away what I experienced next to that display. The Amethyst sang a tranquil song that penetrated every cell in my body. Ever since then Amethyst has always been a go to crystal for me. I will never forget this experience as I wanted something similar to happen to the user when they use SSElixirs Stress Dough.
How is Stress Dough made?
One of the major components of SSElixirs Stress Dough is its soft, doughy texture. How many people loved play-dough when they were young? I know I did! The nurturing experience that comes with play-dough is monumental with healing. I want it to be that every time someone utilizes this product they are reminded of the innocence of their own inner child, letting that aspect of self bring them comfort.
I use this recipe for the Dough:
- 2 cups of flour (all purpose)
- 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1/2 cup of salt
- 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar
- 1 to 1.5 cups of boiling water
- gel food coloring (optional)
- few drops of glycerine
- Mix the flour, salt, cream of tartar and oil in a large mixing bowl
- Add food coloring to the boiling water then into the dry ingredients
- Stir continuously until it becomes a sticky, combined dough
- Add the glycerine (optional)
- Allow it to cool down, then take it out of the bowl and knead it vigorously for a couple of minutes until all of the stickiness is gone. * This is the most important part of the process, so keep at it until its perfect consistency!*
- If it remains a little sticky then add a touch more flour until just right
I make the dough first, omitting the coloring and glycerin. I then take a ounce portion of the dough and add five drops of lavender and five drops of SSElixirs amethyst on each piece, rolling it into a ball while blessing it with Reiki.
In conclusion, this product is very special to me. I hope that this dough can assist people in not only easing temporary anxiety but also to teach people about positive coping skills and self care. This dough is not meant to be a quick fix, but to be a tool that can be easily stored and utilized everyday. It is perfect for a desk at work, or to toss in a backpack during finals, or to have on a bedside table or in a meditation corner.
